Welcome to ISIS CENTER

ISIS Center for Women and Development has three main goals: enhancing women's and gender issues, bridging the gap between the University and civil society, and sharing in global synergy. ISIS was initially founded on July 4, 2006 in Fez by a group of University researchers and feminist leaders. Its Founding Director, Professor Fatima Sadiqi, is also the Founding Director of the Center for Studies and Research and the graduate Unit 'Gender Studies', both considered to be the first of their kind in Fez and the region.

Fatima Sadiqi - Director

is a former Fulbright Scholar and recipient of a Harvard Fellowship. She is Senior Professor of Linguistics and Gender Studies at the University of Fez and Founding Director of the Isis Centre for Women and Development. She is also a UN Gender Expert and an active member of numerous international bodies and projects that deal with

Siham Fadil - Vice Director

Dr Siham Fadil holds a Ph.D in English literature and a postgraduate degree in commercial engineering. She is the head of a service in the Ministry of Religious Endowments and Islamic Affairs in Rabat. She also holds a certificate in 'Gender and Diversity' from Carl Ossiezky-Oldenburg University in Germany and worked as a teacher ‘vacataire’ in English Department in the Faculty of Dhar Elmahraz, Fez. Dr Fadil is also Assistant to the Secretary General of the Association for fighting diabetes.

Souad Slaoui - Treasurer

Dr. SouadSlaoui is senior professor of Linguistics& Gender Studies at Sidi Mohamed Ben Abdellah University University in Fez. She is a linguist and gender studies scholar. She is currently coordinator of the Group of Studies on Gender and Development (CERF) affiliated to the same university.She is also currently coordinationg a Master program entitled:'' Applied Language Studies and Research in Higher Education'' at the Faculty of Letters and Human Sciences Dhar El Mehraz.

Ghita Bousmaha -Vice-Secretary Gegeral

born on 14/03/1987 in Fez. A high school teacher of English, and a PhD student of "English Literature" . I belong to different associations concerned with human rights and gender status in particular such as: CNDH : Conseil National des Droits de l Homme / ALCI Mouvement Alternative Citoyenne and other associations. Secretary general of Zalagh association for theater. I am a Member of ISIS center. Member in Jossour: Forum Des Femmes Marocaines. Member in the organizing committee of the Amazigh festival in Fez.
